There are basic health and safety rules when photographing the public or using the studio.
Photographing the public/Outside:
Road safety:
- Ensuring we consider our surroundings when taking photographs.
Equipment:
- Safeguard equipment and personal items, ensuring nothing is left unattended to reduce the risk of it being stolen.
Hostile reactions from the public:
- Ensure we walk together in groups of two or three to ensure we have the necessary support if we were to be confronted by a hostile person.
Weather:
- Dress appropriately to suit the weather condition, wearing the correct shoes and sun screen/hats for very warm days. If it is a hot day, drink plenty and take regular breaks from the heat.
Studio Photography:
Wires:
- Ensure all loose wires are taped down to avoid tripping/falling
Equipment:
- Only use plugs that have been PAT tested.
- Do not touch bulbs that are in the model lights as they may be hot.
- Ensure all removable parts to equipment are fixed securely.
- Ensure model lights are positioned in a safe manner so it is safe to move freely around the studio.
Food and Drink:
- Food should not be consumed in the studio. Only cold drinks with lids can be consumed ensuring it is away from any electrical equipment.
